Hig h S i de PROFET ®: High-Side Switches T H E H I G H L Y I N T E G R A T E D P R O F E T ® family (PROtected FET) General features incorporates a broad range of smart features. PROFET intelligent power (for all three families): switches consist of a DMOS power transistor and CMOS logic circuitry for Overload protection complete built-in protection. Current limitation Short circuit protection T H E P R O F E T F A M I L Y offers protection against: overload, Thermal shutdown overvoltages, short circuits, excess temperature, ground loss, power supply Overvoltage protection loss and electrostatic discharge. The PROFET family products are also (including load dump) capable of protecting against dynamic overvoltage such as load dump and Fast demagnetization of inductive load turn-off. For the benefits and the functionality of the protection inductive loads features, please refer to details in the datasheets (www.infineon.com / profet). Reverse battery protection with external resistor T H E P R O F E T D I A G N O S T I C S offer the choice of either status Undervoltage and overvoltage or current sense features, or a combination of both. In the event of a shutdown with auto-restart and malfunction, the status feature is able to diagnose overtemperature or open hysteresis (optional) load. The PROFET diagnostic features also provide the user with precise Diagnostic feedback information about switch and load. Diagnostic feedback and load current Open load detection sensing minimize costs by eliminating the need for additional discrete CMOS and TTL compatible input circuitry and assembly. SPOC New SPOC (SPI Power Controller) Family for Advanced Light Control T H E S P O C P R O D U C T S are five channel high-side smart power switches in PG-DSO-36-20 package providing embedded protective functions. They are especially designed to control standard exterior front and rear lighting in automotive applications. I N O R D E R to use the same hardware with bulbs and LEDs, the device can be configured to bulb or LED mode. As a result, both load types are handled optimally in switching and diagnosis accuracy (not BTS5566G). C O N F I G U R A T I O N and diagnosis are done via SPI. Additionally, there is a current sense signal available for each channel that is routed via a multiplexer to one diagnosis pin. SPOC provide a secure limp-home functionality via a limp-home input pin. The NovalithIC family has the capability to switch at up to 25 KHz while providing overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection. Current sense is optionally available to monitor load current. It incorporates an 8-bit microcontroller compatible to the standard 8051 core with On-Chip debug Support (OCDS) and a System-Basis-Chip (SBC). The SBC is equipped with LIN 2.0 ; 1.3 / SAEJ2602 compliant LIN Transceiver, low-dropout voltage regulator (LDO) as well as two low-side switches (relay driver) and supply, e.g. to supply hall sensors (TLE4966).
