IGBT module-based applications must be designed to assure that both V

are within the safe
operating area. Figure 14 shows one particular example of the permissible Reverse-Biased Safe Operating
Area (RBSOA) of V
CE
and I
C
during IGBT turn-OFF.
Note:
The value for V
CE
includes the overshoot voltage.
